30 Questions for Self-Discovery

If you’re anything like me, you may encounter times in your life when you become disconnected from yourself. Maybe you feel like it’s time for change, maybe you have questions hidden within yourself that need answers, or maybe you just need to take a step back and assess the way things really are. Whatever your reason, it never hurts to sit back and do a little self-discovery.

By answering these questions you can understand who you are more deeply, what motivates you, and what is holding you back from the things you want the most. Often times we do not take time to formulate questions that could help lead us to the answers we search for. So, as you answer these questions, be truthful with yourself. No one has to know; no one has to read them but you. (If you want someone to read them, feel free to copy the questions, paste them under the “Contact Me” tab, and respond to them. I would be happy to read your responses and offer advice if you seek it.)  If you’re on the path to self-discovery, lying to yourself will serve no beneficial purpose, so please be honest with yourself and take your time. There’s no need to rush yourself.

1.) Who, or what, is holding you back the most right now? Why?

30.) How often do other people’s agendas run your life?

Ask yourself why some of these things are and what (realistically) you can do to fix it. Do you even want to change or are you happy the way you are? Those are all questions to answer, and they are important in discovering yourself. Even if you don’t come to any conclusions, answering these questions can be calming and relieving. You can learn a lot about yourself and your needs if you just take the time to reflect on your life.

So, I have one final question.

Are you happy?

If you’re not, then you need to cast the things aside that make you unhappy and figure out what will make you happy. Measure your life in memories and happiness. If it is not pleasing, cast it aside. We have one life; one opportunity. Do what you can to make it great.
